BUILDING CONFIDENCE AND RESILIENCE

By Othieno Gerald | Project Leader

Dear Friends,

We are deeply grateful for your continued support of our End Early Child Marriage in Rural Uganda project. Your generosity is helping girls develop the confidence and resilience needed to overcome challenges and pursue brighter futures.

Throughout this reporting period, mentorship remained a central component of our work. Girls participated in life-skills sessions that focused on self-esteem, communication, leadership, and decision-making. These activities provided a supportive environment where participants could share experiences, discuss challenges, and learn from one another.

Many girls reported feeling more confident in expressing their opinions and making decisions about their education and future goals. The encouragement they receive through mentorship is helping them build resilience and remain focused on achieving their aspirations.

Community awareness activities also engaged parents and local leaders in conversations about the importance of protecting girls and supporting their education. These discussions encouraged greater understanding of the risks associated with child marriage and reinforced the value of investing in girls' futures.

Teachers observed positive changes among students participating in the project. Improved attendance, stronger classroom engagement, and greater enthusiasm for learning were reported in several schools.

Community leaders continue to advocate for children's rights and support initiatives that promote education and child protection. Their leadership is contributing to safer environments where girls can thrive.

As girls gain confidence and resilience, they become better equipped to navigate challenges and pursue opportunities that can transform their lives. Thank you for helping us empower young girls to believe in themselves and build successful futures.
