PREVENTING CHILD MARRIAGE TOGETHER

By Othieno Gerald | Project Leader

Dear Donors,

Thank you for your unwavering commitment to ending child marriage in rural Uganda. Your support continues to bring communities together in a shared effort to protect girls and promote educational opportunities.

This reporting period focused on strengthening collaboration among families, schools, local leaders, and project staff. Through awareness campaigns and community meetings, participants discussed the causes of child marriage and explored practical strategies for prevention.

Parents demonstrated increased understanding of the importance of keeping girls in school and delaying marriage until adulthood. Many expressed a commitment to supporting their daughters' education and creating opportunities for personal growth and development.

Girls participating in mentorship activities received guidance that strengthened their confidence, leadership skills, and understanding of their rights. These sessions encouraged participants to set goals and remain committed to their studies despite social and economic challenges.

Teachers reported encouraging improvements in attendance and classroom participation among supported students. Schools continue to play a vital role in identifying vulnerable girls and providing the support necessary to help them succeed.

Community leaders have also strengthened advocacy efforts by promoting child protection messages and encouraging the reporting of child marriage cases. Their involvement is helping create communities that prioritize the safety and well-being of children.

Ending child marriage requires collective action, and we are inspired by the growing commitment from community members. Together, we are creating an environment where girls have the opportunity to learn, grow, and pursue their dreams.

Thank you for making this progress possible through your generous support.
