PROTECTING GIRLS, STRENGTHENING FAMILIES

By Othieno Gerald | Project Leader

Dear Friends,

We are grateful for your ongoing support of our End Early Child Marriage in Rural Uganda project. Your contributions are helping protect vulnerable girls while strengthening families and communities.

This reporting period focused on increasing awareness about the importance of girls' education and child protection. Community meetings provided opportunities for parents and caregivers to discuss challenges facing girls and learn about strategies for supporting their educational success.

Many families demonstrated increased understanding of the risks associated with child marriage and the benefits of allowing girls to complete their education. These conversations are contributing to positive changes in attitudes and encouraging families to make decisions that support long-term well-being.

Girls involved in mentorship activities continued to receive guidance and encouragement from mentors who help them navigate challenges and remain focused on their goals. Participants learned valuable life skills, including communication, leadership, and personal development.

Teachers reported positive outcomes among supported students, including improved attendance and greater classroom participation. The confidence gained through mentorship and community support is helping girls remain engaged in learning.

Local leaders have continued to promote children's rights and strengthen child protection efforts within their communities. Their advocacy is helping create environments where girls feel safe, valued, and empowered.

Strong families play a critical role in preventing child marriage and supporting educational achievement. Your support is helping families become active partners in protecting girls and creating opportunities for brighter futures.

Thank you for helping us strengthen families and empower girls through education
