SHF Report On End Malaria for Children in Rural Communities.

Dear Friends, Family and supporters of Serendipity,

From our last report the cases of malaria had risen from the recent report of the WHO regional Office in April 2023, Malaria has caused deaths of our children in Africa with a figure of 90% cases of Malaria related cases of the global figure and 85% of the global cases are deaths of children under five in Africa. Coming down home to Nigeria, Kano State where we are located has the highest figure of malaria related cases thus making the Federal Ministry of Health to declare a state of emergency in Kano on Malaria. This is a saddening and sorrowful and if we do not do anything soon to curb this the figures could be devastating.

After the End malaria campaign for children in rural communities in Kano Nigeria conducted on World Malaria Day, we at serendipity healthcare foundation gave 30 new insecticide treated nets to 30 more children in Dausayi village under Gezawa local government area Kano Nigeria and showed their care givers the proper way of using the INTNS. We conducted a research in the community on malaria awareness also and we are very glad to see that they are informed on cleanliness and ways of preventing the attacks of mosquitoes in their households. This shows the commitment and progress in the community.

A total social mindset change is needed to stop Malaria in its tracks as even though there is a new Vaccine created to keep us Malaria free we need to still keep our surroundings clean and take precautionary measures to keep it at bay which enables us to curb the effect of malaria.

We recently entered into a partnership with a radio station (Liberty Radio) where we would be airing our campaigns on preventing Malaria in our communities.
