Warm greetings,
I am so very happy and excited to report that the FAWE computer lab was formally opened in May. I had the opportunity to travel to Freetown on a project visit and to declare the lab open. During the trip, I visited the school and met with many of the girls who are benefiting from this lab. Please take a few minutes to see photos of the lab launching ceremony .
It was an exciting experience to see this dream become a reality and we are deeply grateful to you, our Globalgiving donors, for your on-going support that helped make this dream a reality. This day was one of the highlights of my trip and what we have been able to accomplish so far. Thank you so much for your support!
The power / electricity situation in Sierra Leone is currently unreliable and we cannot count on its availability. For this lab to be optimally beneficial, we need to make it available for learning on an on-going basis. We are currently in the process of raising support to purchase solar panels and equipment to power the lab. Until we get this equipment in place, your donation will help cover the costs for instruction and generator fuel.
We welcome your sponsorship of a day ($60) or a month ($300). Full sponsorship details are available here and you can make your donations to this through the GlobalGiving Project page. We welcome sponsorship from individuals, groups, organizations and businesses.
Thank again for your on-going involvement. Hope you have a great and refreshing summer!
