Dear Project Supporters,
School is back in session and your donations are helping support girls and ensure that they are getting basic computer training.
Educating girls is proven to positively impact the entire nation. The International Commission on Financing Global Education Opportunity (which reports to the United Nations secretary-general) stated in a new report that especially for girls, education unlock unlocks huge health benefits, cuts child and maternal deaths and lifts millions out of poverty and into jobs.
This is what we are doing together - ensuring that the girls at the FAWE school are computer proficient and fully prepared to help lead their families, communities and nation.
Over the past month, we have done basic maintenance and updates on the computers at the lab. We also replaced the projector bulb. We also need to purchase a memory module / stick for one of the computers.
The computers in the lab were purchased as used computers in 2012. Over the past 2 years we have had to replace motherboards, memory and power supply units.
It's time to replace these aged computers and we need your help. We would like to purchase 16 new energy-efficient computers from Aleutia.com. The new computers will provide training for the next 5 to 7 years.
The cost for these computers is 449 British pounds each (around $550 USD) - see link in this report. Could you please consider donating towards the cost of one of these computers today?
We welcome your on-going support as we continue to provide this training.
With great appreciation,
The Develop Africa Team
