Equipping Hands for Effective Communication

Dear Friends of KCSD, 

How have you been? I wanted to send you a quick note to thank you for all the support that you have given Kenya Christian School For The Deaf on 27th November 2018 #GivingTuesday. You helped us raise US$1.803 and we say thank you for being there for us and it was great having you in our team and always with us.

However, as you enjoy this holiday season with friends and family, we at Kenya Christian School For The Deaf wanted to pause to thank you for your continual support and thoughtful partnership in our mission to help deaf girls, vulnerable youth and women create better future and for self-reliance. You make our mission come alive every day, and we are grateful and on behalf of our team, our community grantee-partners, and the families and under-served they serve.

September-October 2018 donations’ report towards purchasing training equipment’s and materials for employability skills. We received funds amounting to US$2,570 out of 3,030 total amount raised during the September Challenge. We are so much grateful for the donations, it enables us to accomplish some of the pressing needs that require money to tackle.  

How we spent your donations:

Tailoring: We manage to purchase 3 sewing machines, garment/materials, assorted threads and the for dressmaking students.

Bakery: We also purchased 20 baking pans, bundles of whole flour bags, 60 liters of baking oil, 20 trays Eggs, vanilla essence, sobex, bread improver, and packaging bags.

Gift Bag Making: We purchased a roll of brown paper, 2 liters glue, and 10 rulers.

The funds you contributed in support of employability skills has enabled us to purchase materials, ingredients and the equipment above and has made us accomplish most of our goals of equipping deaf girls, women and the out of school vulnerable youth with employability skills through vocational training for self-employment and sustainability.

KCSD Technical Training Institute has created an opportunity for deaf girls, women, and youth to train on employability skills that enhance their lives to live independently, support themselves and their families.

However, with much happening now on the ground, it’s our sincere hope to accomplish KCSD mission and to impact more lives of those in dire need of help.

We’re still appealing to each of you to kindly talk to your friends and families to keep on supporting our work as we aim to create a better and a socio-economic sustainable future for our program beneficiaries. Any kind of donation either small or big will be highly appreciated. We also encourage you to spread the word and reach out to your friends and other volunteers who can their time, come and provide in-kind services, potential donors to contribute.

What KCSD beneficiary testimony and I quote “Am so grateful for the training of baking I have received from KCSD, at my age, I’m able to bake a wedding cake, cookies and more varieties and as well can open my own baking business and stop washing clothes for people hence living under their mercy.
