A program aimed at the empowerment of youth indigenous people of Chiapas. CHIAPAS CONTEXT It has the lowest Human Development Index in Mexico (0.664) and the highest child poverty rate: 83.6% The highest dropout rate: only 39.8% of students complete their upper secondary education. The highest adolescent fertility rates. In the municipalities of Chenalho, Las Margaritas and San Juan Cancuc the fertility rates are 157, 132 and 103 children, respectively, for every thousand women between 15 and 19 years of age.
I. Through direct personalized work in our training workshops, youth initiatives and the indigenous youth leadership diploma. II. Through youth participation in our forums, seminars, discussions and local public advocacy meetings. III. Through youth participation of girls, boys, adolescents and young people between 11 and 18 years old, in our artistic workshops and cultural & intercultural initiatives.
I. Have the participation of more than 11,400 people in Ch'ieltik activities; among them, 2,100 young people; in the next year. II. Have the participation of 1,600 young people in our forums, seminars, discussions and local public advocacy meetings. III. We expect a percentage of 78.5% of the participating population will be girls, boys, adolescents and young people between 11 and 18 years old; and of that percentage, 44% will be women.
