Through the help of volunteers, last month, we renovated our cattle husbandry facilities! We repaired the damaged cowshed floor and walls during the rainy season. This repair not only improved the living conditions for the cows but also ensured their safety and well-being. Our program is off to a great relaunch with a second baby cow!
We've begun to network with agricultural extension programs in the united states to adopt best husbandry and record keeping practices. Through our connections with Penn State and Stony Brook Universities, we bring international talent and guidance to our livestock programs. This supports continuing education for our staff, and ensures we're at the forefront of livestock management techniques in East Africa. We believe in building local capacity through collaboration and mentorship!
Next month, we'll relaunch our chicken husbandry project with a renovated on-site facility and dedicated program mentor. We're so excited to take these next steps forward with your support!
