We are thrilled to announce that last month, two of our sows successfully gave birth to a total of 13 healthy piglets! Additionally, we have two more mama pigs expected to deliver next month. This marks a significant achievement in our alternative protein project, representing the first successful breeding season and a milestone for our initiative. Moving forward, we plan to continue breeding our pigs, selling surplus individuals, and utilizing some of the meat to supplement the children's diets.
In Tanzania, early childhood malnutrition contributes to stunted growth and difficulty focusing in school, and we prioritize ensuring that our students have well-rounded diets. Furthermore, the surplus income generated from this project directly supports vital operations at the center. By offsetting operating costs, we aim to move towards financial self-sustainability through livelihood projects!
