We are excited to share with you the progress of our food security project in Tanzania, particularly focusing on Michael Ilonga's successful pilot project in the livestock program. Michael recently concluded a successful pilot project by raising and selling 30 chickens. His dedication and attention to detail were evident as he meticulously tracked his progress using a record-keeping system provided by the Penn State Agricultural Extension Services. Through this system, Michael identified the necessity for industry-quality food to further enhance his poultry operation, laying a strong foundation for future growth.
Building on the success of the pilot project, we are thrilled to announce our plans to expand Michael's venture to 50 chickens before the upcoming high season. With the peak demand anticipated in June and July, we aim to capitalize on this opportunity to further bolster food security at Amani. Michael's enthusiasm and commitment, coupled with your generous support, continue to drive meaningful progress towards our goal of ensuring food security for communities in Tanzania. These birds provide income for our center and protein for our student's diets! We are grateful for your ongoing support and look forward to updating you on further advancements in the project.
