Thanks to your incredible support, Ensuring Food Security for Children in Maasailand has made powerful, lasting change in the lives of vulnerable families in northern Tanzania. With your help, we’ve tackled hunger not as a one-time crisis—but as a root cause of family separation that demands sustainable, community-driven solutions.
Over the course of this project, we were able to:
Distribute small livestock (goats, pigs, and poultry) to families in extreme poverty, giving them stable nutrition sources and income-generating assets.
Replant and expand our organic food gardens, now serving both reintegrated families and caregivers of at-risk children.
Provide daily meals to children, especially during the high-stress early months of school re-enrollment or family reunification.
Invest in long-term resilience, including adding solar energy to our community center and securing fencing for off-site farms to prevent crop theft and livestock loss.
Each donation, whether $10 or $10,000, helped a real child eat, learn, and grow in the safety of family—not an institution. And it’s not ending here.
What’s Next?
This project is not closing—but we are streamlining how we receive donations, and you’ll now find our core campaigns unified under a single Families First program banner, still hosted on GlobalGiving and on our website. The food security work continues—woven into our larger effort to stop family separation before it starts.
We’ll continue sharing updates via our quarterly Mailchimp newsletter, where you’ll hear directly from our team, see impact stories from the field, and learn how to keep supporting our mission.
Thank You
