The project's budget is $3,140. However, only $25 has been raised since the project was uploaded on GlobalGiving. It is important to note that this project is conducted once a year and for this year the project was successfully conducted only that it did not reach the intended number of participants as initially planned.

The project did not reach its intended number of beneficiaries due to limited resources.

WAY FORWARD

EWF is currently planning for the next Epilepsy Assessment and Management Course which will take place next year and it is our hope that funds are raised on time to ensure that we register our desired number of participants for the course.

ABOUT THE COURSE

Epilepsy Assessment and Management Course (EAMC) is a three-month virtual course for clinicians in Low-Middle income countries looking to stay up to date with latest research in epilepsy management and imrove their patients outcome.

The EAMC is offered by Pretola Global Health and Consulting based in the United Kingdome and coordinated by Epilepsy Warriors Foundation in Malawi.

Epilepsy training for clinicians

The project for the Epilepsy trainings for clinicians has a budget of $3,140. However, only $25 has been raised so far. It is important to note that the training began in February 2024 and is provided by Pretola Global Health and Consulting Limited.

The Epilepsy Warriors Foundation is coordinating an epilepsy assessment and management centre (EAMC Centre) in Malawi in partnership with Blantyre District Health Office. Fortunately, we received funding for 10 clinicians to attend the training. Initially, the plan was to have clinicians from both urban and rural areas of Blantyre attend the course. However, due to financial constraints, only 10 clinicians from Blantyre urban were able to participate instead of the planned 62 participants. Additionally, 30 other clinicians are attending the course virtually.

The 10 clinicians from the EAMC Centre attending the course are receiving support from the Epilepsy Warriors Foundation (EWF) in the form of lunch and transport allowances.

The participants from the EAMC Centre are attending the course virtually. EWF is using a screen connected to a laptop for participants to join the course remotely, and they are able to ask questions during the sessions.

The trainings are conducted on a biweekly basis and have been highly interactive.

5. Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy in Low-Resourced Countries

7. Sudden Unexpected Death Risk Assessment and Prevention
8. Epilepsy in the Elderly
9. Epilepsy Treatment and Management Options
10. Epilepsy Care in Puberty and Transitions
