Summary

Many primary healthcare centers in rural areas lack basic mobility aids like crutches, walkers, and wheelchairs. Patients with injuries or disabilities are often carried or left untreated due to poor mobility support. This project will equip 100 healthcare centers with mobility aids, helping patients move safely during treatment and recovery. These tools are low-cost but critical for daily care and short-term recovery after injuries or illness.

Challenge

Rural and small health centers often lack basic mobility aids such as crutches, walkers, or wheelchairs. Patients with broken limbs, disabilities, or post-surgery needs have limited support for moving around. Some are carried by family members or stay home without care. Lack of mobility tools delays recovery, increases pain, and limits access to follow-up visits or basic treatment.

Solution

The project will equip 100 healthcare centers with mobility aids including crutches, walkers, and wheelchairs. Each center will receive a basic kit for short-term and emergency use. This will help patients move around during recovery, reduce pressure on caregivers, and improve access to treatment. Local health workers will be trained to handle and maintain the aids for longer use.

Long-Term Impact

Mobility aids in health centers will reduce delays in treatment and support safer recovery for patients with movement issues. This will improve clinic services and allow health workers to respond better to emergencies. Over time, more people with injuries, disabilities, or illness will receive better care and support. The project can also create a reusable pool of equipment in each clinic.
