Equip Orphanage Kitchen in Kivu to Feed 100 Kids

This project aims to equip the kitchen of the orphanage in Goma to provide safe and nutritious meals for over 100 orphaned children, aged 1 to 16. By providing proper cooking utensils and a safe environment, we protect the staff from burn hazards and ensure that children receive meals prepared under hygienic conditions.

Context:
The LEVE-MOI orphanage currently lacks the proper equipment to prepare healthy meals for its 100+ children. Without adequate tools, staff are at risk of injury, and the quality of meals may be compromised, directly affecting the children’s health and well-being.

Proposed Solution:
Through this project, the kitchen will be equipped with essential tools and protective gear, allowing:

• Preparation of safe and nutritious meals.
• Prevention of cooking-related accidents.
• Improvement of the children’s health and living conditions.

Expected Impact:

• Children will be better nourished and healthier.
• Staff will be protected and trained to handle equipment safely.
• A sustainable solution will be established for future generations at the orphanage.

Budget:
The project budget is estimated at $85,000. To date, thanks to our collaboration with GlobalGiving, we have already raised $51. This partnership brings us closer to our goal and ensures the project will be launched in November 2025.

Current Phase:
We are currently identifying trainers and trainees to prepare for implementation.
