The orphanage in Goma cares for more than 100 children between the ages of 1 and 16. For these children, access to safe, nutritious meals is an essential part of their daily lives. Yet preparing food for such a large number of children without adequate kitchen equipment can be challenging and may expose caregivers to burns and other kitchen-related injuries. This project aims to improve these conditions by providing essential cooking utensils and protective equipment, helping caregivers prepare meals more safely and maintain better hygiene.
Our fundraising target is $6,000, and we have raised $52 so far through the support of our early donors. Although the project has not yet entered its implementation phase, important preparations are underway. We are identifying suitable trainers and learners to help ensure that the planned activities are organized effectively and respond to the orphanage’s needs. The funds raised will contribute to equipping the kitchen with essential supplies and improving food preparation safety. As additional donations come in, we will be able to move closer to implementation and provide better support for the children.
Every child deserves a safe place to grow, learn, and receive the nourishment needed for a healthy future. By supporting this initiative, donors can help create a safer kitchen environment and improve daily care for more than 100 vulnerable children. We are deeply grateful to our early supporters and to GlobalGiving for providing a platform that connects local initiatives with a wider community of caring donors around the world. We invite individuals, organizations, and compassionate partners to join us in reaching our $6,000 goal. Every contribution, whatever its size, brings us one step closer to making this project a reality. Together, we can help give the children at inuka safer meals, better care, and greater hope for the future.
