Advancing HIV awareness among girls and boys in the community

Thanks to your commitment, our community health programs are actively and effectively engaging both girls and boys on critical health concerns related to HIV.

Your support has been instrumental in breaking down stigma and fostering a generation equipped with knowledge. We have implemented age-appropriate educational workshops in schools and community centers, reaching over 500 children and 150 adolescents this past year. These sessions use participatory methods to teach the fundamentals of HIV transmission, prevention, and the importance of compassion towards those affected. Special emphasis is placed on gender-specific vulnerabilities, empowering girls with knowledge about their health and boys with lessons on respect and responsibility.

Furthermore, your funding has enabled us to distribute child-friendly informational materials and train local youth peer educators. These young advocates are now crucial voices within their own social networks, normalizing conversations about health and well-being.

The results are promising. Pre- and post-program surveys indicate a significant increase in accurate knowledge about HIV among participants. We are also witnessing more open dialogue between youth and healthcare workers at our supported clinics.
