We want to introduce you to Rosemary, a vibrant 12-year-old we met under the harsh sun last year.
We received a desperate call from her teacher. Rosemary, he explained, was brilliant, but she was frequently absent—not because she was sick, but because she was working. To survive, this young girl spent her days on the roadside, vendoring cooked yams to strangers. Every coin she earned went toward her school fees, her medical bills, and feeding her younger siblings. She wasn’t just a student; she was the sole provider for her family.
When our team found her, we saw a child carrying the weight of the world on her tiny shoulders. Thanks to your incredible generosity, we intervened immediately.
Today, Rosemary’s life is transformed. We placed her and her siblings with a loving caregiver who ensures they are safe and fed. We now provide regular food supplies and cover their essential needs.
The result? Rosemary is thriving. For the first time, she walks into class without the crushing worry of what her siblings will eat for dinner. She is focused, she is learning, and she is simply allowed to be a child again.
