Widowed mothers, left without any safety net, watch helplessly as their daughters disappear into marriages forged not by love, but by hunger.

Imagine raising five children on a few dollars a week. Imagine choosing which child eats today. That is the daily arithmetic facing women like Nakato, whose husband was killed in violence she never understood. Her daughter, Rose, was nearly married off at twelve—until someone stepped in.
