Amid the severe humanitarian challenges facing orphans—especially young girls—in the eastern region of Uganda, daily life is a struggle for even the most basic necessities. Many of these girls endure extreme poverty, limited access to clean water, insufficient food, and a near-total lack of hygiene resources. Against this harsh backdrop, our team—thanks to your generous donations—was able to prepare and distribute another shipment of sanitary pads to girls experiencing period poverty in this region.
For these girls, living under exceptionally difficult conditions within their communities, securing menstrual pads remains a major obstacle. With families overwhelmed by the need for food, shelter, and safety, menstrual hygiene is often deprioritized, leaving girls to face their periods without dignity or protection. Many miss school, risk infection, or resort to unsafe alternatives. Receiving this essential support helps them stay clean, healthy, and empowered—allowing them to attend classes, participate in daily activities, and preserve their self-respect during an already challenging time.
Each sanitary pad distributed represents more than hygiene; it represents hope, dignity, and the message that these girls have not been forgotten. Period poverty is not merely a health issue—it is a barrier to education and equality. By addressing it, we are helping to break cycles of exclusion and vulnerability.
We extend our sincere gratitude to every donor who has contributed to this humanitarian effort. Through your continued support, we are able to reach more girls,
Together we're changing the these girls are living.
Gratitude from,
F SSIBU MISSION FOUNDATION-UGANDA TEAM
