Healing at the Doorstep: Medical Care for Vulnerable Children
For children in Mbalala-Mwanyangiri Village and surrounding communities of Mukono, Central Uganda, illness is often met with silence. A fever is endured. A parasitic infection is accepted as a fact of life. At f ssibu mission foundation, we refuse to accept this.
Our mission equips rural, overlooked children with services and knowledge for sustained improvement. We do not wait for sick children to find us. We walk door-to-door, carrying medical hope in our hands.
The children we serve face a deadly cycle: malnutrition weakens their bodies, then parasitic infections strike. Intestinal worms feed on the few nutrients a child consumes, creating a vicious loop of anemia and pain.
Our three-pronged approach saves lives immediately. First, we administer urgent deworming medicine paired with therapeutic food to pull children from the brink of severe malnutrition. Second, our health officers provide compassionate HIV counseling and preventative education, breaking myths that surround the disease. Third, our "Little Ones Are Waiting" emergency fund pays for vital surgeries and rare medications our local clinic cannot provide.
But we offer more than medicine. When we treat a child for worms, we also provide mattresses and blankets so they do not sleep on contaminated floors. We teach parents hygiene and sustainable farming, giving seeds for long-term food security.
We are not asking for a handout, but a hand up. Your donation breaks the cycle of "eat, infect, starve, repeat." Join us. Let's pull these children back from the brink.
