With three Ebola cases already confirmed in Uganda, the risk of further transmission is real. While health authorities work to contain the outbreak, we must act with heightened caution to prevent this virus from reaching our schools and communities. Children are especially vulnerable in group settings, where close contact and shared surfaces can accelerate spread before symptoms appear.
Through this project, your support will be directed toward procuring essential safety tools—including infrared thermometers, handwashing stations, liquid soap, chlorine for disinfection, sprayers, and protective gloves—and delivering them directly to community schools. Many of these schools lack basic infection prevention supplies. Without immediate intervention, a single undetected case among students or staff could lead to rapid transmission, affecting entire families and neighborhoods.
Your support will help maintain the safety of our children in schools by enabling daily temperature checks, regular hand hygiene, and surface disinfection. These simple but effective measures can break the chain of transmission and give our communities a fighting chance. Beyond protecting individual children, this effort reduces the burden on Uganda's health system by preventing school-linked clusters before they start.
We cannot wait for cases to rise before we act. Every day of delay increases exposure risk for hundreds of children. With your partnership, we can equip high-risk schools now. Please stand with us to keep our classrooms safe and our children alive. Your contribution today saves lives tomorrow.
