Through the outbreak of the Ebola virus in Uganda, the need for protective health measures in schools has become urgent. While Ebola is a viral disease, maintaining rigorous hygiene standards plays a critical role in preventing its spread, alongside contact tracing and vaccination. In this context, antibacterial detergents—alongside proper handwashing routines—serve as an essential first line of defense to reduce overall pathogen transmission, including bacteria that can weaken children’s immunity or cause secondary infections.
Children in schools are especially vulnerable due to close contact and shared facilities. Many schools in at-risk areas lack even basic supplies like soap or chlorine-based detergents, increasing the potential for disease clusters. With your support, we aim to provide antibacterial detergents and hygiene kits directly to these schools, focusing on high-risk districts. This intervention will equip children and teachers with a practical, daily tool to protect themselves, complementing government-led health campaigns and community education.
Beyond Ebola, improved hand hygiene also reduces common illnesses such as diarrheal diseases and respiratory infections, keeping children healthier and in school. Your contribution—no matter the size—can help stock school handwashing stations, supply refills, and train staff on safe practices. Together, we can reduce transmission risks and build long-term hygiene resilience for Uganda’s most vulnerable learners. Please stand with us to protect their health and education.
