Keep her in school

Young mothers are often seen only as beneficiaries of social programs. F SSIBU Mission Foundation believes they can also become contributors, role models and future community leaders.

In Mukono and Eastern Uganda, our work seeks to equip vulnerable teenage mothers with knowledge, skills and confidence that can help them participate more positively in their communities.

Vocational training gives them practical abilities. Mentorship strengthens confidence and leadership qualities. Sexual and reproductive health education improves knowledge and responsible decision-making. Computer training introduces digital skills, while modern farming provides livelihood opportunities.

As young mothers gain these capabilities, their role within their families and communities can begin to change.

A woman who has learned a skill can share knowledge with others. A mother who has overcome difficult circumstances can encourage another vulnerable young woman. A participant who develops economic independence can become an example of what opportunity can achieve.

Donor support makes this transformation possible.

Investment in training and mentorship can create opportunities for young women who might otherwise remain excluded because of poverty or abandonment.

The Foundation’s long-term vision is to see vulnerable young mothers become economically productive, socially confident and actively engaged in community development.

Their experiences can become sources of strength rather than permanent barriers.

This is why donors should see teenage-mother support as an investment in leadership potential.

When we invest in a young mother, we are not simply helping her survive today. We are helping her develop the capacity to influence her family and community tomorrow.

With sustained support, vulnerable mothers in Mukono and Eastern Uganda can become skilled workers, entrepreneurs, mentors, caregivers and positive examples for the next generation.

Their transformation can demonstrate that with opportunity, support and determination, difficult beginnings can lead to meaningful futures.
