Mission

To advocate for and raise awareness about mental health issues, promoting understanding, support, and access to mental health resources in Southeast Nigeria.

Vision

A world where mental health is recognized and supported as an integral part of overall health, where individuals have access to resources, support, and understanding to manage their mental well-being effectively.

Goals

- Raise Awareness: Increase public awareness about mental health issues and reduce stigma.

- Support Access: Improve access to mental health resources and services in Southeast Nigeria.

- Advocate for Policy Change: Promote mental health policy reforms and support initiatives that enhance mental health care.

Financial Overview

- Income: No income reported this quarter.

- Expenses: No expenses incurred this quarter.

Current Status

Due to financial constraints, no activities have been undertaken this quarter for the "Advocacy for Mental Health Awareness" initiative. The project remains on hold while we work to secure the necessary funding and resources.

 Challenges

- Limited Funding: The absence of new income has impacted our ability to initiate or continue planned advocacy and awareness activities. The project is on pause until additional resources are obtained.

- Resource Constraints: Without sufficient funding, we are unable to implement planned awareness campaigns, community outreach programs, and support services.

Future Prospects

- Funding Acquisition: Efforts are being made to secure additional funding to resume and expand mental health advocacy and awareness initiatives. Identifying and applying for grants and donations is a priority.

- Program Development: Once funding is secured, we plan to resume and enhance our advocacy efforts, including public awareness campaigns, educational workshops, and community support programs.

- Policy Advocacy: We aim to collaborate with policymakers and mental health organizations to advocate for policies that support mental health care and access in Southeast Nigeria.

Future Plans

- Secure Additional Funding: We are focusing on acquiring financial support to restart and expand the initiative. This includes reaching out to potential donors and exploring new funding opportunities.

- Collaborate with Stakeholders: Building partnerships with mental health organizations, community leaders, and government agencies will be crucial for the program's success and sustainability.

- Expand Advocacy Efforts: Developing comprehensive awareness campaigns and educational materials to engage the community and reduce mental health stigma will be a key focus when activities resume.

Impact Nexus

- Awareness and Education: The program aims to enhance public understanding of mental health issues, reducing stigma and promoting open dialogue.

- Access to Resources: Improving access to mental health services and support through advocacy and community outreach.

- Policy Change: Working towards policy reforms that ensure better mental health care and support systems are in place.

Conclusion

This quarter has been marked by financial constraints, leading to a suspension of activities for the "Advocacy for Mental Health Awareness" initiative. Despite these challenges, SOHF, SEV, and SOHF's Impact Nexus remain committed to advancing mental health awareness and support in Southeast Nigeria. We deeply appreciate the continued support of our donors and partners and are dedicated to resuming our efforts to make a meaningful impact on mental health care and awareness in the region.

Warm regards,
