We are enjoying a good rainy season so far....an abundance of rain and we hope that this year the farmers will have a good harvest.
We had thought that we would discontinue the project when the schoolyear finished and we gave one most affected school extra biscuits to help the kids over the rainy season. But when we visited the regional education bureau we were asked to continue our support till December as the harvest in not until that time so this means the famine situation will continue till then.
For this reason we will put out a new appeal to everyone and see if we can get enough funds to assist the kids till December. At least we will be sure that children will enroll in school and make it through their first semester!
