Happy New Year
By Jon Parsons | Director
Feeding
Food is one commodity that is guaranteed to put a smile on a child's face. But it's so much more than that too.
Without food the children we support would get sick.
Without food they would not be able to concentrate in class.
Without food they would be tempted to go to the streets to beg or steal.
Without food their future is at risk.
Thank you so much to all who have donated in the past, and those who will donate in the future, to enable us to keep these kids fed, and consequently in school, at home, healthy, and happy.

Growing Strong

Children continue to attend Turning Point's Children's Centres in Kibera daily to learn and play and here they benefit from our feeding programme.
Just last month four more kids were admitted into the Transition Programme where street children prepare to return to school. These kids are particularly grateful for the feeding programme, this a big draw to hungry kids joining our projects.
The rest of the kids who have been attending the Centres throughout the year are healthy and growing strong thanks to the nutritious meals they receive each day.
Thank you to all who have supported this programme this year. Without your contributions we simply could not run the feeding programme.

Caleb's Story
By Emily Obiti | Field Worker
Primary School kids enjoying their lunch
When eight year old Caleb showed up at Turning Point's Children's Centre in Kianda, his stomach was riddled with worms, his swollen belly gave it away. The World Health Organisation says that these worms can have a significant negative impact on a child's health and development. But luckily, treatment is simple and affordable. This is why Turning Point regularly deworms all the children accessing our food programme as well as teaching kids about good hygiene and providing clean drinking water.
In time, Caleb's health improved greatly as he benefitted from the deworming tablets and the regular healthy meals. Today, Caleb is a happy and healthy boy. Full of energy and always excited about a game of football.
By supporting Turning Point's Feeding Programme you will help to ensure that 100 children with similar stories to Caleb will receive not only daily breakfast and lunch but also regular deworming and teaching about hygiene. Please consider what you can give to ensure this vital programme continues. Thank you for your support.
