Feed 100 children with malnutrition in Medellin

CHILDREN LEARN VIOLENCE FROM ADULTS.

If we use insults and harassment, children will act that same way with others. Also, if we expose them to violence, they will imitate and reproduce just that.

My name is YULIMA. I am a 44-year-Prold housewife. I live with my husband, and God gave me the gift of two beautiful daughters; two grand children were born of them, and I am their grandmother and mother. The boy’s name is Miguel Angel, and the girl’s is Isabel Yulima; they are both eight years old and in primary school. Even though I went through very complicated situations to fend for them, I made the decision not to leave them on their own, without someone by their side to guide them, care for them and educate them; this has also been of great satisfaction and joy.

I came across the “Tiempo de Paz” Foundation, through the grandmother of another child who was already attending the feeding center “Trigo y Miel” in the Libertad neighborhood. I have been a beneficiary for a year and a half now. Aside from receiving nourishment, my children have learned teamwork, to respect others, to share, and above all, to have a relationship with God; the faith of an entire family has been strengthened.

The Foundation has done fantastic social work in our community; the children are carrying out different activities that serve well to their development in the emotional, social, physical and psychological areas, keeping them out of the streets and bad company. It’s developing in them good behavioral habits, responsibility and discipline, that in the future they may be young people who strive for peace and seek to walk with God.

I give thanks to God for having crossed my path with that of the Foundation, and I ask Him to bless each member, for them to continue giving that unconditional love, that dedication, that patience, that struggle for this beautiful work. God bless you!
