The floods in northern Thailand since October have been devestating to so many families here. Many families lost everything and cleanup took time. But Bread for Life, thanks to the generosity of our donors, was able to jump in and help.
We have traveled from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai, Mae Ai, Mae Hong Son, Mae Taeng and many other areas to help families affected by the floods. Not only did our team help with flood cleanup but we provided both hot meals and dry food bags to help these families in their time of need.
In Chiang Rai, we brought food to over 200 families and were able to visit the worst-flooded areas to encourage and support the local families there. We have visited many villages in the surrounding area and brought dry-food bags and snacks for the kids. The smiles on their faces say it all!
In Chiang Mai we provided hot meals during the flood as well to those whose homes were still under water or who were trying to clean up the mud and had to way to cook.
We have also purchased cooking utensils, pots, pans, stove tops and rice cookers to replace those damaged by the flood.
Bread for Life has provided food to at least 500 families in the last two months, and we are still getting requests to help. Thank you for your continued generosity and support.
