Help Families and Children without Food

Immense joy has been ours as we have been able to partner with nationals to serve and reach their communities.  Throughout the holiday season, we were introduced to new communities in which needs exist.  As a result, Bread for LIfe was able to partner with the leaders of these communities and villages to supply food and basic necessities.  The beautiful part of this is that we now know and can get to know more of the chronic needs and issues within these communities so we can continue to grow relationships.  

One of the unique opportunities that has arisen as we've partnered is hearing and seeing the need for basic training skills in order to learn a trade and therefore, provide for one's family.  As part of this, Bread for Life is able to assist those who don't have the resources to register and pay for trainings that will give locals a wage-earning trade.  So far, we have had two young gals start to test towards earning their GED for further education and we have two signed up to begin training as house helpers.  It is an exciting time when we see the outreach with the use of food carry over into so many aspects of need in the lives of others.

Bread for Life continues to be excited about the various avenues of giving and meeting needs in which we partake. Thinking through our latest successes and challenges, it's become clear that focus and revision are necessary to our "reach". One of the unique opportunities that has arisen is working with those in the disabled community.  In Thailand, there are limited and often, no resources, for those born with special needs.  Children with disabilities are considered "less than" and regularly put up for adoption because of the social stigma as well as the limited resources families have to take care of them.

Bread for Life is partnering and looking to expand its relationship with those who are disabled in addition to their families.  One specific family, shown here, is helped monthly with feeding tubes, sanitation supplies, and the food needed for this young gal.  Some of the necessary items are either not available or extremely expensive and must be imported from other countries.  Bread for life is a key component in making this happen.  Additionally, Bread for Life maintains relationship with the family working hard to validate the choices and sacrifices the family makes to unconditionally love and provide for her.

As we continue to meet the needs of the impoverished, the Bread for Life team is encouraged by this defined direction.  it is allowing us to expand the use of food to meet needs to underprivileged communities.
