In April 2024, our team traveled to different villages in Thailand to provide essential support to remote villages facing extreme hardship. We distributed food to families in need and walked through the community to identify individual needs, meeting families where they were. Many of the people we serve are unable to leave the mountain due to poverty or physical limitations and rely on our team to bring essential supplies. Through consistent visits, we have built trust and developed meaningful relationships within these communities.
One particularly impactful story comes from a village where a baby girl was born with a cleft palate. Her surgery was delayed because she was severely underweight. Her mother, pregnant again and without support from her husband, struggled to afford even basic nutrition. Through generous donations, we were able to send weekly food supplies, helping the baby gain the necessary three kilograms to qualify for surgery. We also connected the family with a doctor willing to perform the operation. Thankfully, the little girl successfully underwent her first surgery and is continuing her recovery journey.
The support provided to this family also led to broader positive change. The father, seeing the assistance his family received, made significant life changes: overcoming drug addiction, returning to work, and committing to supporting his family. While the baby girl still has a long road ahead with future surgeries, this family’s story highlights the long-lasting impact that compassionate community outreach can have.
Additionally, we hosted a girls' health and safety training day, covering essential topics such as the female reproductive system, menstrual health, safe sex education, personal hygiene, and self-defense. We distributed period packs containing reusable, washable pads, providing the girls with sustainable, practical solutions for managing their menstrual health with dignity.
We also partnered with a local organization that hosts summer camps and leadership programs for at-risk youth from the surrounding villages. With generous support, we were able to sponsor 40 students to attend a special summer program where they trained with professional soccer players. These athletes not only coached the students in soccer but also served as mentors and role models. Some of the students will even have the opportunity to try out for Thailand’s national soccer team. Alongside student sponsorships, we continue to provide food and financial support to help sustain these transformative programs.
We are incredibly grateful for the continued support that makes these efforts possible. Every contribution directly impacts the lives of families and children, helping create pathways to healthier, more hopeful futures
