It has been an incredible start to our Christmas Appeal 2012 for The Phoenix Projects and its charity, Fly The Phoenix. Thanks to donors so far, 10% of our 1003 children in Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Ecuador and Perú, over 100, have already been guaranteed daily food and fruit for the whole of 2013. We want to try and get all our 1003 kids guaranteed to receive their daily food and fruit and so far, we could reach that goal, thanks to all your efforts.
To put into figures, with money raised so far this is fresh fruit and hot food every school day for 100 children, or 23,000 fruits and bowls of hot food in 2013 which is an amazing effort! This is 10% of our children. When we reach our target for all our 1003 children, that will represent close to 250,000 fruits and bowls of hot food during 2013.
Children cannot learn on an empty stomach, so the importance of filling that hole, and also adding daily vitamins through fruit cannot be underestimated in its importance for the education of all our children in the communities.
Spread the word, Fly The Phoenix and thankyou in this Festive Season, have a great one! cheers
