Food for IDPs in Kayah State

The situation there is getting worse and worse. Many people flee from one camp to another and this does not make it easier for our project. Nevertheless, we succeed again and again in distributing food to the people and especially to the children in the embattled areas. We have made it our task to distribute a healthy lunch to the schools on a regular basis so that they can at least get their fill from time to time.
The civilians are now being told by the coup army not to bring food out of the city, so it is difficult for us to get rice. But we are trying our best.

Due to the rapid increase in the cost of food and the decline of the national currency, more and more people are suffering. Many have lost their jobs, and many had to and still have to leave their home villages and find refuge in refugee camps. There is no prospect of an end to these attacks on civilians.
But with the help of people who support us financially for this project, we will hopefully be able to bring help to the people in the future.

Our project continues. Thousands of refugee children and their families need our help. With regular food deliveries and clean water, we provide for as many children and their families as we can at the moment. The rainy season makes the situation worse every week, as the roads are often impassable. Many of the children suffer from malnutrition, fall ill, and need medical help, which is not always available in this area. The military continues to launch attacks on the civilian population and many families spend their nights in the nearby forests digging holes in the ground for their children to hide in. A cruel inhumane approach by the military creates fear and terror, and many of the children are traumatized. They often do not understand why they have to leave their home village, or why they cannot go to school or kindergarten. Their future is uncertain.
Help is urgently needed here and even if we cannot help everyone, every single family that will survive this terrible time with our help counts. Albert Schweitzer once said:
Whoever saves a child saves the world. We try to live this every day. With 1.50 dollars we can provide one person with food for a day. Not much for us, but for the people this means life.

P.S. To protect our staff in Myanmar from persecution by the military, we will not make any photos of them public and ask for your understanding.
