How your donations help a local farmer grow

By Uttama Pranaya | Fundraising & Communications

Dear friends,

Nearly halfway into 2023, the community where the farm is located in Cipanas have made significant recovery from the earthquake that happened last November and the farm continues to receive enthusiastic agricultural students from nearby schools. Our farmers are eager to nurture and develop them to become confident and competent young farmers who have the advantage to go into the world and seek employment for themselves.

One of the missions of the farm is to ensure local farmers have stable income. However, sometimes someone comes along and surprises all of us at the farm.

Meet A, a local farmer who has significantly grown as a farmer since he joined in 2018. Initially, A joined as a daily farm worker whose job was to cultivate the land, which includes hoeing and leveling the land. Not long since he joined, we quickly discovered how hardworking and open to learning he is.

Fast forward to today, A is now an expert in planting and harvesting vegetables. His knowledge increased significantly throughout the 5 years he has been working at the farm that he is able to contribute in teaching whenever there are workshops at the farm. That means, now, A not only has a stable income but also the skills which has enabled him to become a full-fledged farmer!

We’re eternally grateful for your generous contributions which keep the farm running and continue to support the community!

NB: If you can, we would appreciate it if you could set up a monthly donation through GlobalGiving as this provides us with  a sustainable source of funds. New monthly donations (up to $200 per unique donor) will have their first donation matched at 100% after four (4) total payments.
