Growing together sustainably!

By Uttama Pranaya | Fundraising & Communications

Dear friends,

In our mission to spread sustainable organic farming practices, we must also keep learning and enhancing our own knowledge and skills so that we can better prepare young farmers to succeed in their endeavors in the agriculture industry.

Recently, our farmers received training in natural farming, trained by a seasoned professional in farming from Japan. While we have practiced organic farming, we have yet to fully implement the practices of natural farming. In principle, natural farming promotes the natural biotic and abiotic elements of the environment in our farm’s ecosystem. As the natural farming practices increase the soil’s fertility by using readily available elements like leftover mushroom seeds, indigenous microorganisms, and other fermented organic materials without adding more organic fertilizers, the farm becomes more sustainable.

As we are still in the process of practicing natural farming and seeing its long-term results, we are thrilled at the prospect of spreading more environmentally friendly farming practices to agricultural students who will be coming to our farm this year.

Thank you for your continuous support to our farm and ensuring food security and good health for pregnant mothers and elderly, as well as a learning facility for young farmers to learn about organic farming practices! If you are able, we would appreciate it if you could set up a monthly donation through GlobalGiving as this provides us with a sustainable source of funds to scale up the farm's impact so it may continue to serve those in need. Right now, new monthly donations will have their first donation matched by GlobalGiving at 100%.
