We have been blessed in the last 2 months to receive 5.5 tons of food, which will be enough for at least 5 months, but although the food was free, we still had to pay for part of the transport, which totaled to 1800 Euros. It is true that this is as much as the cost for one month of food is, but it still put pressure on us to be able to pay for it.
On the medical front, the last few months have been very hard due to very hard cases:
- Betty's fight with cancer, that required 2 surgeries, treatments. This was a fight that she eventually lost
- Scooby with his broken spine and umerus. He needed 2 surgeries and now he needs physiotherapy to learn how to walk
- Bonny was found with only parts of her hind legs. One had to be amputated and for one she received an implant, but she still needs physiotherapy for the skin to heal properly
- Spicy was hit by a car and also had a broken spine. He is recovering nicely after surgery and we hope he will soon find a new home.
- Lili had troubles with both her back legs and needed surgeries for both.
These are just to most severe cases, without the mention of the small things that trigger visits to the vets.
