MCANAAN FOUNDATION ORPHAN AND NEEDY CHILD DEVELOPMENT provides care for 45 children either orphaned or from vulnerable homes that risk child abandonment in Uganda. We provide the children with food, necessities, good education, clothing and medical care. We need to build good structures to house our children properly with clean water. We've created agricultural/poultry farming and a sewing vocational school for sustainability but we're lacking resources to be efficient providing for them.
At MCANAAN FOUNDATION there are 45 children, 12 volunteer staff and 8 widows. They lack sufficent food and clean drinking water. An estimated 7 million Ugandans lack access to safe water which results often in fatal digestive and skin diseases. Their bathroom and toilet were damaged due to flooding and need to be rebuilt. Their vocational school needs additional sewing machines and clothing materials. We need help to establish sustainable solutions that will effect 1000 people in their community
By obtaining land, we'll be able to produce sufficently to provide food and income from cash crops. Medications can be purchased to treat and cure malaria. A standard, well equipped classroom will provide an education for our youths and help us develop to our full potential. Each project teaches children valuable trades and will help them become good citizens, spiritually and physically serving the living God. We aim for sustainable soultions for their self-reliance.
UNICEF estimates that there are over 2 million orphans in Uganda due to poverty. MCANAAN's objective is to expand to 1000 community members bringing sustainable solutions that will help them rise out of poverty. Community members shall be employed and children will acquire an education eliminating illiteracy and unemployment in the community. Community members shall be transformed spiritually and physically.
