Rainforest month!

World Rainforest Day

Dear wonderful supporters,

June is shaping up to be a big month for rainforests, as we celebrate both World Environment Day and World Rainforest Month! Each of these is an opportunity for us to raise awareness about the critical importance of environmental conservation and restoration, and to celebrate our colleagues across the world who are working hard to protect their respective corners of the planet!

As you know, rainforest restoration is our principal goal here at Iracambi, and with your help we're going all out to restore and protect the wonderful ecosystem in which we live.

And here's the thing. There's a lot more to rainforest restoration than planting trees! And, talking about forest restoration, if we're going to hit our goal of planting and caring for a million trees by the end of the decade, we're going to need all hands on deck to help out! That's why we work with local schoolchildren, helping them discover the magic of the forest, and equipping them to become environmental defenders.

This past week a group of our Eco Leaders appeared at a local council meeting to talk about the environmental situation in our county. These young people are willing and able to contribute towards creating the brand new county development plan, and they understand the need for all sectors of society to study the issues and become active participants in shaping the future. And, as future leaders, they are determined to ensure that their voices and ideas are heard and respected. It's exciting to see them stepping up!

So once again we'd like to send you a heartfelt thank you for your support We'd love to be able to welcome you at Iracambi and show you the beautiful new forests that you have helped us plant. But, since that's not so easy for most of you, we're going to publish a video about our work to mark World Rainforest Day on June 21st and we'll share the link with you so you can see for yourselves how together we're Saving Forests and Changing Lives.

Empowering Conservation: Transformative Research Unveils Forest-Animal Dynamics

Dear Donor,

We would like to express our deep gratitude for your donation to the program. Your generosity has been essential in driving our efforts to conserve and restore forests.

We thrilled to share some exciting news with you. We are honored to have the presence of an incredible researcher who is currently studying in Italy, at the University of Bologna. She is conducting a groundbreaking study within the breathtaking landscape that we have nearby Iracambi, focusing on the incidence and presence of various animals in different types of forests: primary forests, natural regeneration forests, and planted forests.

This exploratory study holds tremendous importance in understanding the interaction between animals and different forest ecosystems. The researcher is conducting meticulous observations, collecting valuable data on biodiversity, and analyzing the impacts of distinct forest conditions on animal presence and behavior.

In just one month, she will conclude this pioneering research, which will open many doors for us. The results of this study will allow us to better understand the importance of conserving native forests, the process of natural regeneration, and the benefits of planted forests. These findings will serve as a crucial guide to shape our future actions in restoration and conservation.

All of this is made possible thanks to your ongoing support and generosity. Your donation has a direct impact on our work, enabling us to conduct cutting-edge research and implement effective actions in forest protection.
