Since the beginning of the year, we have been deeply involved in tree planting across various regions of Minas Gerais, facing challenges and making significant strides.
Tree planting has been a pivotal aspect of our efforts to restore native vegetation and safeguard water sources throughout the region. However, we have encountered some specific difficulties related to the topographical and geographical features of certain areas in Minas Gerais.
One of the main challenges we have faced is the uneven terrain, which makes the planting process more arduous. In many cases, the terrain is not flat, and thus we cannot utilize heavy equipment to dig the holes needed for planting the seedlings.
To overcome this obstacle, we have resorted to more traditional methods, such as employing donkeys to transport tools and equipment to the planting areas. Furthermore, to maximize our efficiency, we have adopted a divided team approach. While one team focuses on digging holes for the seedlings, another team prepares the soil for planting, and a third team carries out the planting itself. This division of tasks has allowed us to work more swiftly and effectively, ensuring that we can plant as many trees as possible within a short period.
Despite the challenges, we are pleased to report that we are successfully progressing with our planting efforts... even with the rain! The days here have been so rainy and we even need an extra help from our friends: the donkeys!
So, to this date, we have managed to plant trees in various key areas, contributing to the restoration of the local ecosystem and the protection of water sources. We will continue to face challenges as we proceed with our project, but we are confident that, with determination and teamwork, we will be able to overcome any obstacles that arise in our path.
We sincerely appreciate your ongoing support and commitment to the Forest4Water project. Without you, none of this would be possible. Stay tuned!
Warm regards,
The Iracambi Team
