Thousands of people in Nigeria are wrongfully imprisoned due to weak investigations, lack of legal aid, and discrimination. Many innocent prisoners are left to suffer without medical care, food, or legal help to prove their innocence. Through this project "Justice without Bars", we'll work to free the innocent, prevent new wrongful convictions, and provide food and medical support for sick prisoners. With donor help, we can give hope & freedom to those who should never have been behind bars.
Nigeria's prisons hold thousands who should not be there. Wrongful convictions are fueled by lack of access to lawyers, poor investigations, and poverty. Innocent people face long sentences or even death while enduring harsh prison conditions. Many are sick with untreated wounds, chronic illness, or terminal disease. Food is scarce, medical care is almost absent, and legal aid is out of reach, leaving the innocent to suffer and die in silence behind bars.
Justice without Bars will provide legal representation to review and contest wrongful convictions. We will engage lawyers, prepare case files, and pursue court hearings for the innocent. Prison visits will identify cases and bring medical aid and food to prisoners who are suffering. Donations will cover legal fees, medicines, and meals, giving both immediate relief and a fair chance for freedom. This project connects those most in need with legal and medical help.
Freeing innocent people from prison restores lives, reunites families, and builds trust in the justice system. With sustained legal aid, fewer wrongful convictions will occur. Providing food and healthcare reduces preventable deaths behind bars. Prisoners freed through this project can return to their families and communities with dignity, while public awareness of wrongful convictions will help prevent future injustice. This work lays the foundation for fairer trials and safer communities.
