From Temporary Shelter to Permanent Homes
Dear Valued Donors,
In recent years, devastating floods have displaced millions of people across Pakistan, with Tharparkar among the hardest hit regions. Families who were already living in fragile conditions lost their homes, belongings, and sense of security almost overnight. In response to this humanitarian crisis, the Customs Health Care Society strengthened its housing and water support programs, including the From Hut to Home initiative.
Through this project, unsafe mud huts have been replaced with durable brick houses designed to withstand harsh weather conditions. By 2025, dozens of families have moved into these permanent homes, gaining not only physical protection but also renewed stability and dignity. Children can now sleep safely under solid roofs, and families are able to plan their futures with confidence rather than fear.
While this progress is encouraging, the need remains immense. Many vulnerable families continue to live in temporary shelters, exposed to extreme weather and ongoing hardship. With your continued generosity, CHCS aims to build more permanent homes, expand access to clean water, and restore hope and dignity to countless households.
Together, we can help families move from uncertainty to security and from survival to stability.
With sincere appreciation,
Dr. Asif Mahmood Jah
