Introduction
Uncorrected vision, the world's most prevalent eye issue, is a significant barrier to education and employment. This problem is particularly acute in the world's poorest regions, where many children and their families are often unaware of their visual impairments. Limited or no access to opticians and glasses exacerbates this issue. A staggering 2.5 billion people, 80% of whom reside in just 20 countries, need a simple pair of glasses.
Report
Our mission is to reach out to individuals in rural and underprivileged communities across Africa, connecting them with eye care specialists for vision testing and necessary eye care. This initiative not only offers children a fresh start in life but also fosters the overall health of the community. Professional screenings will help us identify each child's unique needs, and we will provide training to both the child and their family to ensure the correct use and upkeep of the glasses.
Despite our successes, including testing hundreds of children in Cape Town's townships, donations have been slower than expected. We want to remind you that a donation of just $20 can fund a pair of glasses for a child, potentially changing their life forever.
We sincerely thank you for your support and encourage you to consider making a donation to help us continue this vital work. Your contribution can make a world of difference.
Thank you for your Support, and have a Merry Christmas!
