Empower a Girl to To Acquire Education

By Joshua Omondi | Project Leader

Edna's first day in a boarding secondary school
Edna's first day in a boarding secondary school

The teenage girls in the community faces a lot of problems in the quest to acquire education, majority of them come from less fortunate families hence cannot afford to pay for the school fee as well as purchasing basic requierements like Sanitary towels. Due to this, majority of them are taken advantage of by some irresponsible men in the community who lure them by providing these needs for them in exchange of sex and go as far as impregnating them hence they drop out of school and become young mothers, this has led to a poverty circle that is hard to break.

Your donation over a time has made us see many girls finish their primary level and majority have joined colleges and trade courses for livelihood skills which have made them able to control their lives and resist the temptation of being lured to promiscuity.

We continue to assist the ones who have completed their primary and were not able to join secondary school on trade training like beauty, catering, crotcheting etc. We intend to start some of these trade courses within the our compound as the number of those who have completed their schooling are increasing.

We released 20 girls who are joining Junior Secondary this year which is the current education system and 25 girls from last group of grade 8 to Secondary School. Since many of these parents/guardians cannot afford secondary school fees, some of our supporters this year have enabled us to take at least two of them to national secondary schools.

Can you imagine what your continued support is helping us achieve and what more it can do, when you are consistent in supporting our cause? We are applealing to our friends like you to help us sponsor such bright girls like Edna (See the photo) to finish the next four years of their secondary schooling and hopefully join the higher level of learning after.

Through your continue d support through the GlobalGiving platform, we occasionally assist the needy girls with sanitary towels and support on school uniforrm. We sincerely thank you for your sacrificial givingn to help a girl complete school.  Due to the increasing number of girls and the high rates of infation in our country, we appeal for your commitment to support us on a  regular basis (monthly) as well us helping us reach those within your network to support us.

Thank you for always Supporting us.!
