This project empowers more than 100 girls annually in Cameroon with coding, STEM, and leadership training. By taking part in the Technovation global challenge, a key milestone of the program, girls gain hands-on experience in app development, teamwork, and problem-solving, building the confidence to lead in technology. Your support expands access to digital skills and helps create the next generation of women in tech, including 40 new participants in the 2025-2026 Technovation session.
Girls in Cameroon face limited access to digital tools, STEM education, and female mentors. Many schools lack computers and trained instructors, affecting all students, but girls are disproportionately impacted due to cultural expectations and fewer opportunities to engage in technology. Without dedicated programs that build their confidence and skills, girls remain underrepresented in STEM fields and miss out on future career opportunities.
This project provides girls with coding, STEM, and leadership training through hands-on workshops, mentorship, and the Technovation global challenge. While all students face limited access to technology, this program gives girls the support, tools, and guidance they often miss in schools. This year, 40 new girls joined, and in 2024-2025, 2 of our 5 teams reached the Technovation semi-finals, helping participants gain confidence and real digital skills.
STEM education opens pathways to leadership and economic opportunity. With women holding only 14% of STEM jobs in Africa, empowering girls with digital skills helps close this gap over time. As the program grows to train more than 100 girls each year, it will build a stronger pipeline of young women in tech who can innovate, mentor others, and strengthen the future workforce in Cameroon and across Africa.
