Dear Partner,

We’re excited to share a recent milestone in our ongoing efforts to strengthen the education system in Northern Nigeria. From June 24th to 26th, 2025, Girls Education Mission International led a three-day intensive training workshop for 20 Primary School Supervisors, one from each of Bauchi State’s 20 Local Government Areas.

The training, held at the Smart School Bauchi, focused on:

1. Effective supervision and quality assurance in basic education.

2.Use of the UBEC-developed checklist for monitoring teacher performance

3. Data collection and reporting for informed decision-making.

There was a practical exposure to innovative learning environments through a Smart School tour, including ECCDE centers, inclusive classrooms, ICT labs, and digital tools.

This initiative builds on last year’s training of 30 Science and Technology teachers. Now, with supervisors being trained and tasked to cascade knowledge to at least 50 others each, we are set to impact over 2,500 education personnel across the state.

Participants expressed immense gratitude, with many, like Ummi Maikudi from Toro LGA, attending such training for the first time in their careers. She shared how her eyes were opened to the true responsibilities and possibilities within her supervisory role.

We are deeply grateful for your continued support, which makes this life-changing work possible. Your donation is directly contributing to improving education quality, accountability, and outcomes for thousands of children most especially girls in Nigeria.
