when girls rise: the story of chaimae

By Maryem Laghdaf | Communications Assistant

Dear Friends,

We are deeply grateful to have you as part of the Project Soar community. Your support continues to open doors for girls all across Morocco helping them build confidence, discover their voices, and take meaningful steps toward shaping their own futures. Because of you, this work is not only possible, it is growing.

Today, we’re happy to introduce you to one of our inspiring Soar Girls: Chaimae, 15 years old, from Dakhla.

Chaimae joined Project Soar in 2023 and has since grown into a confident and inspiring young leader. From her early days in the program, she showed a strong commitment to learning and self-development, gradually stepping out of her comfort zone and embracing new challenges.

Today, Chaimae proudly represents Project Soar at major events in Dakhla, embodying the values of empowerment, leadership, and community engagement. Her journey reflects a powerful transformation from a quiet and reserved girl into a young woman who leads with confidence and purpose.

Known for her strong sense of teamwork and responsibility, Chaimae has become a trusted and dependable presence among her peers. Whether she is planning activities, organizing initiatives, or stepping up to lead, she brings enthusiasm, care, and dedication to everything she does. Her positive energy continues to uplift those around her and inspires other girls to believe in their own potential.

Reflecting on her journey, Chaimae shares:

“I was a very shy girl, and Project Soar helped me develop myself and find the courage to be a leader. Through the program, I discovered my voice and learned that I have the power to create change.”

Chaimae’s story is a powerful reminder that when girls are given the right support and opportunities, they don’t just grow, they lead. She represents the strength, resilience, and vision that define Soar Girls everywhere.

Thank you for making stories like Chaimae’s possible. Your support continues to inspire and empower the next generation of leaders.

With appreciation,

The Project Soar Team
