Give Girls' Rights For Life in Morocco

We wanted to extend our thanks to You for continuing to believe in our mission to Give Girls Rights' for Life in Morocco, supporting them while they become the leaders of today and tomorrow.

During the fourth module of the program, Soar Girls learn about their Rights and how to fight for them in everyday life. For example, they learn that they have the right to pursue their education. And the 2022 data show the impact of the program: 99% of Soar Girls planned on going to the next grade level and 90% of them passed the school year. Even more impressively, 100% of eligible Soar Girls passed the BAC2 Exam! 

By choosing to continue their education Soar Girls are taking their futures into their own hands and are not being coerced or pushed into early marriages, another topic being extensively addressed during Soar program.  

Indeed, one of the ways in which Soar Girls are using their voices and fighting for their Rights is through advocacy, in particular our campaign against Child Marriage, and our new efforts this year focus on involving the community even more. As such, Soar Girls have written and created a whole play about child marriage and its devastating consequences and they will soon get to perform it in front of audiences !

Hello Friends,

We want to thank you for your generosity in helping underserved teen girls continue to gain from our empowerment workshops. In Module 2, about the importance of their Voice, Soar Girls learn how to communicate effectively, express themselves audaciously, and be heard. Soar Girls engage in a variety of public speaking exercises to develop their capacity to communicate their views clearly and convincingly. These skills are essential to both their daily lives and leadership roles, helping them become the leaders of today and tomorrow. 

As a Soar Girl from Midelt, Hajar, recounts her experience, she says: "I've discovered that in order to be heard and project confidence, I must talk clearly and loudly. That demonstrates to others that I am confident in my statements." Her strong statement demonstrates how Module 2 actively empowers teen girls and how it gave Hajar, and many girls like her, the self-assurance she needed to express her opinions and be heard. 

In addition, always during the same module, girls acquire the active and empathic listening abilities necessary for developing effective communication skills. They acquire the skills of questioning and seeking clarification, which improves their capacity for comprehension of various viewpoints and successful communication. These are all skills that help underserved rural Girls to Soar.
