Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous donation to our project promoting the farming of goats by resource-poor families. The raising of goats for meat, milk and income is proven to be a powerful tool in order to combat poverty and the lack of resources. Goats are easy to raise and they eat only grasses which is readily available in the countryside. There is also very little care by way of vaccination and medication for the goats as they are hardy and do not easily get sick. This reporting period we designated an area as pasture and forage production farm in order to grow different nutritious forage for distribution to goat raisers for them also to grow in their areas. We intend to grow different forage whose seeds and planting materials are difficult to source here. Hoping for your continuing support to our initiative.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora

Alternative food for the goats
Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous donation to our project providing goats to poor farming families. We promote goats because they are easy and cheap to raise and require no special skills by farmers who have little resources. The government is also assisting in terms of providing technical assistance to goat raisers and their neighboring farmers. This reporting period, we focus on the provision of know-how on how farmers will be able to produce fodder with high nutritional value for the goats. We train them on the planting of legumes and other crops which they will be able to use in order to produce healthy and well-nourished animals. We hope that our 12 first batch of trained farmers will be able to train others.
Hoping for your continuing support.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora

Dear Friend,
Warm greetings and thank you very much for your generous support to our initiative providing goats to poor farming families. Time and again our goat dispersal project is found to be very effective in assisting poor farmers survive and generate food and income from goat farming. Aside from eating only grasses and taking care of them by pasturing, cost in raising goats is minimal compared to other animals such as pigs where you need to purchase feeds and vitamins in order to have income. Without proper feeding you will not be able to gain from the farming enterprise and the farmer gets discouraged. This reporting period, we encourage farmers to plant highly nutritious crops such as centrosema, flemingia and indigofera and they are very happy about it espcially that the plants are proven to provide high nutrients for the animals. We taught them that aside from feeding the leaves, they can also let the plants bear seeds for sowing in their farms in order to multiply the sources of feeds.
Hoping for your continuing support.
Very sincerely yours,
Cora
