September Gold Ribbon Month: Casa de la Amistad. Over the past 35 years, thanks to donors and volunteers, we have supported more than 15,258 families with children with cancer and today work with 30 hospitals across 21 states of Mexico. Around 7,000 new cases are diagnosed each year in children and youth under 18. This Gold Ribbon Month, we invite individuals and companies to come together to reach our goal of $1,000,000 USD, ensuring life-saving treatments for young cancer patients.
The context in Mexico . Cancer is the leading cause of disease-related death among children under 14. In 2024, Casa de la Amistad supported 1,280 children and youth, providing treatment, lodging, meals, emotional and educational support - all free of charge for families. We have two main support programs: Medical Assistance and Lodging.
