Dengue Prevention Awareness and Support for Children with Disabilities

During the quarter on the Dated 21^st January 2026 , our organization successfully implemented a community-based Awareness Raising Meeting on Dengue Mosquito Prevention with a special focus on children with disabilities and their families. The objective of the activity was to increase knowledge on dengue transmission, prevention methods, and household-level protection, while ensuring inclusive participation of parents and caregivers.

The session included an interactive discussion on identifying mosquito breeding sites, the importance of cleanliness, use of mosquito nets, and early health-seeking behavior. Visual festoons with dengue prevention messages were demonstrated to make information accessible and easy to understand for all participants. As part of practical support, mosquito nets were distributed to children with disabilities, prioritizing families living in high-risk areas.

Several parents shared their reflections during the meeting. One parent expressed, “We did not know that clean water containers could still breed mosquitoes. This session helped us understand how to protect our children better.” Another mother stated, “My child has a disability and is more vulnerable. Receiving a mosquito net gives us safety and peace of mind.” A father added, “The visual materials and simple explanations made the messages very clear for us.” Overall, the activity strengthened community awareness, encouraged preventive practices, and enhanced protection for children with disabilities against dengue.

PROTIBANDHI SHISHU SHIEKKHA O PARICHARJA SAMITY working areas are northern part of Bangladesh, Jamalpur district has witnessed a surge in Dengue cases, affecting vulnerable communities, including persons with disabilities and their families. The lack of awareness about Dengue prevention, limited access to medical care, and financial constraints exacerbate the challenges faced by these individuals.

During the Reporting period on the month of 20^th October 2025 Organization taken Possible Solutions are conduct targeted awareness session to educate women with disabilities and their families about Dengue fever, its symptoms, and preventive measures, Provide advice for diagnostic tests and necessary medical treatments to ensure timely intervention for Dengue infections , Representative of the directorate of Social Services office Mr. Abul Basher speech delivered on the conducted awareness raising meeting for educate beneficiaries about the importance of mosquito control to prevent Dengue transmission.And provideCapacity Building Orientation to enhance their ability to identify and manage Dengue cases among persons with disabilities.

Aim of this program is to address the above-mentioned issues and provide support to protect the health and well-being of Children and Persons with Disabilities and our Organization Findings some ProblemThe outbreak of Dengue fever in our working areas of the Jamalpur district, has brought to light the following issues-Persons with disabilities and their families often face barriers in accessing medical facilities for diagnosis and treatment of Dengue. Many individuals, especially those with disabilities, lack information about Dengue fever, its symptoms, and preventive measures. Families of persons with disabilities may struggle to afford medical costs and essential resources needed to manage Dengue infections.

After Orientation within the families reduced Disease Burden and educational efforts, the incidence of Dengue infections can be minimized & Empowered Communities Capacity building will strengthen improve its ability to address future Dengue outbreaks.

Communities People are very impress for our taken activities on facings challenges from Dengue and Our targeted Beneficiaries are very happy for receiving support from organization and our GlobalGiving supporters. Some of poor family demand to us - mosquito net support for prevent dengue mosquito due to their poverty & financial limitation

During the Reporting period on month 30^th June 2025 , Organization Conduct targeted awareness campaigns to educate persons with disabilities and their families about Dengue fever, its symptoms, and preventive measures, Provide financial assistance for diagnostic tests and necessary medical treatments to ensure timely intervention for Dengue infections ,we are Distribute mosquito nets and educate beneficiaries about the importance of mosquito control to prevent Dengue transmission.And provideCapacity Building Orientation to enhance their ability to identify and manage Dengue cases among persons with disabilities.

Persons with disabilities may find it challenging to reach medical facilities for diagnosis and treatment, leading to delayed or inadequate care. Increased awareness & Enhanced Disease Knowledge about Dengue fever will empower beneficiaries to take preventive measures, reducing the risk of infection.Saved money for distribution mosquito net in to among families and Improved Healthcare Access with given financial support for medical expenses will enable timely access to healthcare facilities for diagnosis and treatment.After distributing Mosquito net in to the families reduced Disease Burden and educational efforts, the incidence of Dengue infections can be minimized.After providing orientation Empowered Communities Capacity building will strengthen improve its ability to address future Dengue outbreaks.
