The recent Dengue outbreak in Bangladesh has reached critical stage with notable surge in cases and deaths this year. Project aim to address above-mentioned issues & provide support to protect the health and well-being of Children and Persons with Disabilities in Jamalpur, Bangladesh. As 30th July 2023, country has reported more 200 fatalities caused by the mosquito-borne illness. Disease has now spread 60 districts and Jamalpur district has witnessed surge in Dengue cases.
The outbreak of Dengue fever in Bangladesh, particularly in the Jamalpur district, has brought to light the following issues Limited access to medical care Lack of disease awareness lack information about Dengue fever, its symptoms & preventive measures. Families' financial constraints to afford medical costs essential resources needed to manage Dengue infections. Persons with disabilities may find it challenging to reach medical facilities for diagnosis and treatment, leading to delayed care.
The aim of this project is to address the issues and provide support to protect the health and well-being of Children and Persons with Disabilities in Jamalpur, Bangladesh. Distribute mosquito nets and educate beneficiaries about the importance of mosquito control to prevent Dengue transmission. Conduct targeted awareness campaigns to educate persons with disabilities and their families about Dengue fever, its symptoms, and preventive measures. Provide financial assistance for diagnostic tests
Increased awareness about Dengue fever will empower beneficiaries to take preventive measures, reducing the risk of infection. Financial support for medical expenses will enable timely access to healthcare facilities for diagnosis and treatment. Through mosquito net distribution and educational efforts, the incidence of Dengue infections can be minimized. Capacity building will strengthen the region's healthcare system and improve its ability to address future Dengue outbreaks.
